In The Dress Show, intersecting narratives of the immigrant experience, entrepreneurship, faith, and place are presented through sound and documentary-style photojournalism in this multimedia series by Courtney Hurtt and Kenny Karpov.

Through colorful portraits of people with their garments and conversations with the shops’ unique personalities, this story illuminates the challenges and learnings of entrepreneurship. Hurtt begins by introducing Iqbal Ahmed, one of several Hamtramck dress shop owners.
