When you step inside the boxing ring it tells what you know and what you’re really about, and who you really are as a person.

Downtown Boxing Gym has daily tutoring, meals, activities and training for all of its youth, free of charge. But what the youth talk about – the thing that keeps them coming and the waiting list growing – is Coach Khali, and the other coaches and mentors at the gym. The coaches treat the kids like family, and expect effort and discipline in return.

Youth boxer Ferris Dixon has seen and lost a lot in his young life, but he’s found a support system at the boxing gym, and poured his energy and focus into the craft of boxing.
